Last weekend Jake and I decided to take a spontaneous trip to see Niagara Falls and get away from Pittsburgh for the weekend. Some (most) people called us crazy for visiting Canada on what was arguably the coldest weekend yet this winter, but we were determined to see the falls in all of their icy, snow-covered glory.

It's been a while since I shot film. Having the luxury of being able to take my phone anywhere/everywhere made me lose the patience that film requires. I do, however, keep my old Nikon FM-10 sitting on a shelf in my bedroom, so when I was packing my bags for my Halloweekend trip to NOLA with two great friends, I knew I wanted to bring it along and give it a shot again (plus - that meant I didn't have the hassle of lugging my DSLR and lenses)! Last year, Ace Hotel Pittsburgh opened up in a century-old YMCA building in Pittsburgh's East Liberty neighborhood. The interior is casual, comfortable and filled with natural light. I've been there for brunch and coffee a few times, but today I finally snagged some pics. Enjoy!

I was SO happy to see a row of bright pink cherry blossom trees on my walk home this evening. For me, cherry blossoms signal the start of spring: my favorite season. While I'm not the biggest fan of the pink, I can't help but take....
