For Christmas, I got the wonderful gift of membership to Phipps, so I decided to make my first visit as a member today! I took my camera (and Kelsey) along with me and wanted to share some photos with you all — check them out below!

This delightful community in Pittsburgh's East End is home to a mixture of young professionals, families and plenty of college students. The neighborhood may be known for its great shopping — I can practically see the Apple store from my window — but we chose it because it's quiet, walkable and charming.
I could (and do) spend hours walking around Shadyside's residential streets. I'm a sucker for a beautiful old Victorian, and it seems like every day I've found a new favorite house. I decided to take my camera with me on my walk today. Enjoy some photos from this morning below!
Pro tip (can I say that after living here for two weeks?): there's a historic, picturesque block called Roslyn Place just a stone's throw away from the center of Shadyside. The charming little cul-de-sac is Pittsburgh's only remaining wooden street. The road, located off Ellsworth Avenue, is paved with pressurized oak blocks and lined with red brick homes. It's absolutely stunning and definitely worth a visit. Here are a couple snapshots I took of Roslyn Place this morning:
I'm in the process of unpacking and decorating our apartment. Expect a post with photos of that soon!
